Ham and Red Pea Soup

Let's get started!

Method

    Put water in a large pot and bring to the boil. Add the Dunn's River Red Kidney Beans, Ham, Garlic and Pimento Berries and continue to boil together for about 40 minutes or until the beans becomes tender.

    Add the yellow yam and sweet potato to the pot and continue to cook for a further 10 minutes.

    Mix in the Grace Coconut Milk, Celery, Spring Onion, Thyme and Grace Cock Flavour Soup Mix and allow to simmer for a further 15-20 minutes until the vegetable pieces are all softened.

    Ladel portions into individual bowls and serve with hearty Spinner Dumplings - Enjoy!

  • • 3 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • • 8-10 Dunn's River Whole Pimento berries
  • • 3 tbsp Grace Jamaican Hot Sauce • 500g yellow yam, peeled and sliced
  • • 500g sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • • x1 400ml can Grace Coconut Milk
  • • 2 tbsp Celery, chopped
  • • 2 stalks Spring Onion, finely chopped
  • • 1 Sprig of Thyme
  • • x1 50g packet Grace Cock Flavour Soup Mix"
